We don't want to live in George Bush's America. I see a nation gripped by fear and belligerence, so much so that it is becoming pathological in a variety of ways. We were active in the anti-war movement, but I won't get into all of that.
Qatar was actually not our first choice, we had planned to move to New Zealand, but when this opportunity arose, we reviewed what we were looking for in a new home, and discovered that Qatar seemed to offer most of what we were looking for.
Now that we have been here a year, I can say that it has been a great move. We have much less stress, there is lots of opportunity, and a genuine sense of community. We love it here.
